What Makes America Different
Let’s be honest. America is the greatest country in the world. Sorry, not sorry. It just is.
Every nation has an identity, something that makes that country unique. In 1776, every country in the world based its identity on the ancestry of its people. Japan was mainly Japanese people. France was mainly French people. Spain was mainly Spanish people. However, the United States of America was the first to base its identity on values. Among them, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
In the 245 years since we signed the Declaration of Independence, many other countries have followed our example. First, we inspired the free world, then we saved it during World War II and rebuilt it in the years since.
Creating freedom for billions of people worldwide is reason enough to say the US is the greatest country in history. But, as if that wasn't enough, we also have a vibrant culture, the hardest workers, the brightest minds, a treasure trove of natural resources, the most powerful military, and the most prosperous economy.
Even with all that going for us, clearly there’s something amiss in our country. So much so that many are losing hope for America’s future. Some are even declaring that America as an empire has “fallen.” This pessimism, while understandable, is unnecessary.
