You might have heard that there are three things you should never discuss at the dinner table: money, religion, and politics. If you've ever been in a heated political discussion with your uncle over Thanksgiving turkey (or steak if your family is based), you know why. Money, religion, and politics are controversial topics. They don't mix well with social life. So we put them in boxes. There's a time for money, religion, and politics; there's a time to leave them be.
That's how it used to be. We used to have a sense of decency. We all wanted what's best for the country. We just had different visions for how to get there. And we could put politics aside and still enjoy our lives.
